he book that made Sullivan’s Island famous has a sequel: Return to Sullivan’s Island. The New York Times Best-Selling author and Charleston area native, Dorthea Benton Frank, will be debuting her new book at the College of Charleston Bookstore. The event starts at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, June 30.
The 223rd anniversary of Carolina Day will be held on June 27 and 28 on Sullivan’s Island. This is an annual event in observance of the 1776 battle in which the American patriots turned back British ships attacking the coast.
